JENNIFER WAKEFIELD

Jennifer grew up in small town Alberta and studied voice, piano and Secondary Music Education. When the opportunity came to teach overseas and experience a local East African music scene, she found herself in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania where she lived and worked for five years.

She moved to Toronto in 2008 and has been both a pianist and vocalist in a variety of local projects. Her recent projects include a pianist for St. Andrews-by-the-Lake church, accompanist for the Surrey Place choir, vocalist for a Fujiwara piece in the Danceworks 40 th Anniversary and Dusk Dances events, backup vocals for singer-songwriter Angela Saini, and singer in “Have you seen my sister?” a vocal installation featured at Toronto Nuit Blanche.
